Where Can I Learn More About Selling Tickets with EventForm?
EventForm enables event organizers to sell tickets for their events. To learn more about the available ticket selling options for your Google Forms review this page.
How to Sell Tickets with EventForm?
Open EventForm Console and navigate to the "Settings" tab. Turn on the "Enable Ticket Sales" setting and fill in additional sub-settings:
Payment Processing Method - select a payment processor to collect payments from your attendees.
Select "Stripe" if you'd like to accept all major credit cards, local payment methods relevant to your country, Apple Pay and Google Pay. EventForm integrates seamlessly with Stripe, fully automating payments, refunds, notifications and payment status updates. Fees from both EventForm and Stripe apply when using this method.
Select "Other" to collect payments with Venmo, PayPal.me, CashApp, or any other payment processor which offers a personal payment link. EventForm offers a limited integration with such providers where attendees will be informed about how to pay, and sent reminders. This method does not support automated refunds (upon cancellation), payment and refund notifications, and payment status updates. You will need to manually update each attendee's payment status to "Paid" in the Event Console. EventForm does NOT charge fees for this method.
Payment URL - only available for "Other" payment processing method. Specify a URL that would enable your attendees to make a payment. EventForm will dynamically add an amount to be paid to the URL.
Please see the examples below, and be sure to follow the specific formatting for each (just replace "johnsmith" with your payment handle):Venmo: https://venmo.com/johnsmith
PayPal: https://paypal.me/johnsmith
CashApp: https://cash.app/$johnsmith
Note: You may leave Payment URL blank and provide payment instructions by customizing registration and reminder emails, and/or adding payment instructions within your event's description.
Ticket Type(s) - select "Single Flat Fee" if you are selling only one ticket type (i.e. General Admission) or "Multiple Ticket Types" if you sell a few types of tickets (i.e. Adult, Children).
Settings for "Single Flat Fee":
Flat Ticket Fee - specify how much you'd like to charge per ticket for a "Single Flat Fee" ticket type. This is the amount that attendees will pay per ticket. For free tickets set it to 0. No additional fees will be collected from attendees.
Ticket Currency - select one of the 130+ currencies supported by Stripe. Note: "Other" payment processors might only support your local currency. Be sure to select an appropriate currency to avoid confusing your attendees and potentially charging incorrectly.
Settings for "Multiple Ticket Types":
Ticket Currency - select one of the 130+ currencies supported by Stripe. Note: "Other" payment processors might only support your local currency. Be sure to select an appropriate currency to avoid confusing your attendees and potentially charging incorrectly.
Select a Form Question for Choosing Ticket Type and Quantity - only available for "Multiple Ticket Types". Select a question from your registration form which attendees will use to choose how many tickets they'd like to reserve for each ticket type. The selected question must be a "multiple choice grid" type of question with rows containing ticket type name and a price (i.e. Adult - $12 or Adult - 12 USD) and columns containing a selectable number of tickets for that ticket type (i.e. 1, 2, 3...). Use currency symbol (i.e. $) or code (i.e. USD) which is appropriate for your selected "Ticket Currency".
Allow Cancellations and Refunds - select if you'd like to allow your approved attendees to cancel their registration and receive a refund if applicable. Stripe will issue refunds automatically. For "Other" payment processing methods you will need to issue refunds manually from your payment provider and update the payment status to "Refunded" within EventForm.
Days Before the Event - select how many days before the event start date you allow cancelling registrations. For example, if you enter 7, then attendees will be allowed to receive a refund if they cancel within 7 days of your event's start date. If you'd like to allow cancellations up to the event start time, then set the value of this field to 0.
Disable Payment Reminder Emails - EventForm will send periodic payment reminder emails to approved attendees if their payment status is not yet marked as "Paid". If using a Stripe integration, EventForm will mark an attendee's registration as "Paid" automatically upon payment. However, "Other" payment processing methods will not. If you use an "Other" payment processing method, but don't plan on being very diligent about marking attendees as "Paid", you might want to turn on this setting to avoid creating confusion.
Click the “Save” button if you modify any of the settings.
What are the Fees for Selling Tickets with EventForm?
EventForm charges a low 1% service fee on all tickets sold with Stripe. This is in addition to Stripe charging a typical fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Please see additional fees that Stripe charges for foreign transactions and countries outside of US here.
For example, if you sell two $10.00 tickets ($20.00 total sale) using the Stripe integration, then the following fees will be applied on your sale:
Stripe: $0.30 + (2.9% * $20.00) = $0.30 + $0.58 = $0.88
EventForm: 1% * $20.00 = $0.20
Total Fees = Stripe Fee + EventForm fee = $0.88 + $0.20 = $1.08
Net Proceeds = Total Sale - Total Fees = $20.00 = $1.08 = $18.92
EventForm does NOT charge any service fees for "Other" (i.e. Venmo, PayPal, CashApp) payment processing methods. However, please check with your preferred payment processor if they might charge you any fees for your account.
How to Allow or Disallow Cancellations and Refunds?
You can control whether refunds are allowed for your event with the following two settings once you have selected to enable ticket sales:
Allow Cancellations and Refunds - select if you'd like to allow your approved attendees to cancel their registration and receive a refund if applicable. Stripe will issue refunds automatically. For "Other" payment processing methods you will need to issue refunds manually from your payment provider and update the payment status within EventForm to "Refunded".
Days Before the Event - select how many days before the event start date you allow cancelling registrations. If you'd like to allow cancellations up to the event start time, then set the value of this field to 0.
Please be sure to review Stripe's refund policy on fees if you plan to use Stripe.
How to Offer Free Tickets?
You can offer free tickets by setting the price to $0.
How to Allow Attendees to Purchase Multiple Tickets per Registration?
For "Single Flat Fee" tickets, use the "Enable Reserving Multiple Spots" setting. See here for more information.
For "Multiple Ticket Types" tickets, specify the available quantity to select by ticket type within the same Multiple Choice Grid question which defines your different ticket types. See the next topic for more information.
How to Offer Multiple Ticket Types per Registration?
Open EventForm Console and navigate to the "Settings" tab. Turn on the "Enable Ticket Sales" setting and populate the rest of the sub-settings. Select "Multiple Ticket Types" for the "Ticket Type(s)" setting.
Select an appropriate Google Forms field for the "Select a Form Question for Choosing Ticket Type and Quantity" setting - the selected question must be a "Multiple Choice Grid" type question with rows containing ticket type name and a price (i.e. "Adult - $12" or "Adult - 12 USD") and columns containing a selectable number of tickets for that ticket type (i.e. 1, 2, 3...). Use currency symbol (i.e. $) or code (i.e. USD) which is appropriate for your selected "Ticket Currency".
See the accompanying screenshot for an example of selling three types of tickets, with a maximum of 3 of each type selectable.
Click the “Save” button if you modify any of the settings.
What is the Minimum Price I Can Charge per Ticket?
You may charge any price you'd like when using "Other" payment processing methods. However, when using Stripe, although you may make tickets free by setting the price to $0, for some countries, including US, Stripe requires a minimum transaction amount. For example, in US the minimum transaction must be more than $0.50. You may find all minimum amounts by country here.
